OK first of all - I'm really late blogging about the current Etsy Bead Weaver Challenge! Oopsie! There are only 3 days left to vote! And....I'm actually in this one! Woohoo! Number 8, but you don't have to vote for me, vote your your favorite! Although I'd be honored if that was me :)
One of the things I did when I first started this blog was I'd document when ever I snagged a treasury or was in a treasury, that left my main blog free for other things. I'm not really sure why I stopped doing that... Maybe because I stopped snagging treasuries on a regular basis and the rare occasions I WAS in one were causes for celebration so they ended up on the main blog! Well, I'm going to be much more active in the treasury world, at lest through Christmas, and I'm going to document it on here :) Don't worry - I'll keep doing my features too!
Every day I sit at my work desk and look out my screen door at this big tree. As we've moved steadily into fall I've seen it go from being covered in green, to bright and glorious shades of red, orange, and yellow, and now the leaves are becoming ever more bare as we move into winter. So, naturally, I decided to do a search on leaves with my lovely etsy bead weavers team! This is what I found...
I first saw Vitrine's shop because she was very sweet and featured me in a treasury. I always love looking at fellow jewelry artists, so I thought I'd feature her! One thing I always love to learn about people is why they have the shop names they have, and this is what it says in the opening section of her shop:
vi·trine /vɪˈtrin/ –noun a glass cabinet or show case, esp. for displaying art objects.
I love all the natural elements that she uses - look at that thunder egg!
Ok, I know the traditional rainbow goes "Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet." Or...as we are taught at a young age...ROYGBIV. Well, I'm skipping Indigo because I'm just not finding enough items marked Indigo! Besides, it's just a darker shade of blue :P So on to my favorite color! Violet/Purple.
Like these lovely items by the Etsy Bead Weavers? Search "EBW" on etsy to find more!
I found this shop because they awesomely decided to feature me in a treasury! There are some wonderful charms (and other things!) in this shop and I might just have to come back and go shopping at some point...
Blue is such a pretty color - and the FFEST team does a fantastic job of using it in their many different types of items! If you want to see other items by this awesome team, just search "ffest team" on etsy :)
Since I really want to feature each of my etsy teams (except the one that's pretty much dead) on here...I'm going to work through the rainbow on all of them! Here's Facebook Fans On Etsy :) (search ffest team).
I don't want to let this blog lapse for too long, but I'm not feeling to motivated because of my kidney stones :P So I'm going to start working through the rainbow! Today is the Etsy Beadweavers in Red :)
My cousin is having the first Grandbaby in the family this December - I'm so excited! Today my Mom and I are going to look at patterns and pick out yarn so I can make a baby blanket for her. Which also has me very excited! Woohoo! Anyway, because I'm in a baby mood, I thought I'd show off some baby items that my dear Etsy Bloggers Team make!
I decided that today I should feature a fellow jewelry artisan! I don't do that very often, but she's such a sweet heart that I decided I had to :D I can only feature a small portion of her work in my spotlight, so make sure you go and check out her shop!
If you read my other blog (www.roseworksjewelry.blogspot.com) then you already know I've been learning to crochet! I'm having a lot of fun with it :) So today I decided to see what my team mates have made with crocheting!
I was so wishing for a sleep mask yesterday when my migraine was at it's worst! Normally I'm not that sensitive to light, but this time it was killer. Since I didn't have a lovely and fun sleep mask like the one's pictured below...I took a bandana and blindfolded myself :P
I was finishing up a custom order hemp necklace this morning...so I thought I'd browse for some hemp items! These loverly finds are from both etsy and artfire...and I cheated and put one of mine in the middle :P
Today I was paying bills, needing a break, and I decided it was treasury time! But what would I do? Well, bills equal paper...and that made me think of my friend Love to Stamp! All of these finds are from her etsy shop. I would have featured some from her artfire, but when artfire put the new studios live it messed up some of the code byhand.me uses with the spotlights. So until Adam fixes it I can't feature artfire that way :( So go here to see her other shop!
I just love the fantasy world! Last night as I was browsing around I kept finding new beauty's to fall in love with - so I knew that today's treasury had to show them off! I found a lot of these by browsing Vote Handmade - and then the rest by simply searching fantasy :)
I love to look at beads! Unfortunately I can't afford to buy all the lovelies I see. So I decided that from time to time I'll go window shopping and show off some of my favorites in here! Today's finds are all from Etsy.
I'm not a pet owner (allergies) but I know many people who love their furbabies and include them as part of their families. So when I found this wonderful shop I just had to feature it for them! Click on any of the pictures to go check out the Artfire shop of DivineCanine.
Oh yes, and they only had 8 items in their shop, so I included a pet lovers pair of earrings from my dear friend Sharla of Beaded Tail :)
I just joined the Blog Fire Guild over on Artfire...and I'm so excited that I already have my first carnival submission done! Woot! Ok, it's supposed to be May Flowers, but since I'm early I'm just calling it Spring Flowers :)
I've been wanting to revitilize this blog for awhile, but the time involved was just too much. BUT, I now have the awesome spotlight tool from byhand.me and that takes out the majority of the time involved! So this blog is alive again :D Woohoo! And to debut I'm doing purple (my fav color) and the Etsy Bloggers, because this is a BLOG after all!
